I got this tattoo about 2 week ago. It’s my grandfather’s signature and his birthday (he’s still with me today). The reason why I got his signature tattooed on my arm…is because he means the world to me. My dad left my mom when I was born, he didn’t want anything to do with me. So my grandfather, being the great man that he is, helped raised me. Not to mention, my grandfather also raised my mom and her two sisters (they all have different dads but same mom). So my grandfather raised 3 girls as a single parent, and then helped raise me and my younger sister growing up. I’m 23 now but my sister is 12. We see my grandfather every day still, he lives literally, about 2 minutes away from where we live.
When I showed him my tattoo of his signature, he said “Why my signature?” and I told him because he means a lot to me and that I love him. He replied with “I know you love me but you don’t have to get a tattoo showing it” and I said, “Well, what’s done is done”. Every time I see him, I show him the tattoo and he still smiles really big. Just today, he was like “That’s my signature on your arm, forever.” and just looked at it for about a minute without saying anything.
Yeah, this was my first tattoo and it means a lot to me.
